Chicago day 2! Our second day in the city was a Monday and probably our busiest day of the trip.
First we walked from our hotel to Millennium Park to see Cloud Gate aka "The Bean". As you can see it was a BEAUTIFUL day! Not a cloud in the sky!
I love how you can see the city in the reflection, so gorgeous!
It was cool enough to bundle up in my favorite cropped blush pink sweater and my new jeans! All outfit details are linked below.
The park was right next to the marina so we walked down there and it was just so pretty!
A little further down the park was Buckingham Fountain - it's huge! It was not crowded at all since we went early.
We had to stop for a break from all the walking while I called my friend, and Brian caught me mid hair flip, ha!
Our Target radar was on as usual so we stopped in to experience a 3-story Target! So crazy to this Florida girl! You'll also notice this is last photo you'll see me with these booties on. We'd done well over 10,000 steps at this point and my feet were KILLING me! Like, I could not take another step! So I had to purchase some tennis shoes on the spot - oops!
Once I could walk again, we headed to Macy's, which used to be Marshall Fields which is where my mom shopped growing up. It was 9 stories! I'm just so fascinated by how tall every store is :)
We ate at the Walnut Room inside Macy's and I would highly recommend it! It was a super nice setting and their signature dish - chicken pot pie - was amazing!
The dessert wasn't half bad either ;)
All that and the day was only half over! One of my best friends lives in Chicago now so of course we met up with her and her husband while we were there. We went up to Lincoln Park to meet them and visited the Lincoln Park Zoo, where we got this gorgeous shot of the city.
They ended up coming back into the city with us and took us to Three Dots and a Dash - a bar whose entrance is in an alley and unmarked - highly questionable! But it was very well themed inside and had super fun drinks!
My friend had warned me it was too dark inside for Instagram worthy photos (she knows me well!) and she was right! But at least you can see the cool drinks in this pic!
After drinks we decided to try out a Korean BBQ place. It was so fun cooking our meal on the grill and was really delicious!
For dessert we went to Eataly which was on the same block as our hotel. Brian got a Nutella crepe but I was too full!
It was an amazing day. We got to see so much of the city and it was awesome to catch up with our friends! Plus any day where I get a new pair of shoes, even out of necessity, is a good day.
Check out Chicago day 1
Don't forget to Sparkle!
