Now you may be looking at this outfit and thinking - that does not look appropriate for 80 degree weather. And, okay, maybe you'd be a little too hot - but it would definitely be great in the 70's! And here's the secret:
Store ads and mannequins always have cute vests like this one layered over thick sweaters. Which of course I always think that will never work for me except maybe one day a year! So here I've styled my vest over a lightweight long sleeve tee. Simple as that - and it still looks so cute and cozy!
I would call this the preppy look of the series - a quilted vest and riding boots - I mean, come on. In college I was SUCH a prep! I loved wearing stuff like this, so it's fun to pull out a look like it again. To me if I'm wearing jeans, boots don't add to the warmth that much - so I'll opt for them to complete my look vs a pair of flats or tennis shoes.
So what do you think of this look? Would you wear it even if it wasn't super cold out? I definitely would! This would be so cute to wear meeting my friends for lunch or for a day of Christmas shopping.
